Position Summary
The Fire Protection Engineer provides fire protection and life safety engineering support for ATF government facility in Martinsburg, WV. The role supports code compliance, system review, inspections, corrective action tracking, and technical recommendations for safe and compliant facility operations.
Key Responsibilities
ยทย ย ย Review fire protection and life safety systems for code compliance.
ยทย ย ย Evaluate fire alarm, sprinkler, suppression, and related systems.
ยทย ย ย Support inspections, assessments, deficiency reviews, and corrective action tracking.
ยทย ย ย Review drawings, specifications, technical reports, and system submittals.
ยทย ย ย Coordinate with Government staff, contractors, and facility personnel.
ยทย ย ย Prepare engineering recommendations, reports, and documentation as required.
Required Qualifications
Candidate must meet one of the following qualification paths:
ยทย ย ย Professional Engineer (PE) with a BS or MS in Fire Protection Engineering and at least 5 years of fire protection engineering experience; or
ยทย ย ย Professional Engineer (PE) who has passed the NCEES Fire Protection Engineering exam; or
ยทย ย ย Professional Engineer (PE) in a related engineering discipline with at least 5 years of dedicated, verifiable fire protection engineering experience.
Additional Requirements
ยทย ย ย Strong knowledge of fire protection and life safety codes and standards.
ยทย ย ย Experience reviewing technical documents, designs, and inspection reports.
ยทย ย ย Strong communication and coordination skills.
ยทย ย ย Ability to obtain and maintain required federal facility access credentials.
Preferred Experience
ยทย ย ย Experience supporting federal facilities or government contracts.
ยทย ย ย Familiarity with NFPA codes, life safety requirements, and federal facility environments.
