Summary: The Quality Manager serves as a firmwide technical leader responsible for ensuring architectural excellence, consistency, and design integrity across all project phases. This role leads quality assurance definition, and quality control efforts from schematic design through construction contract administration, ensuring that all project documentation is accurate, coordinated, code compliant, and aligned with contract documents, owner requirements, and JLG standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage comprehensive QC reviews throughout all project phases, from schematic design through construction contract administration.
  • Develop, maintain, and continuously improve firmwide QA standards, procedures, checklists, and protocols.
  • Oversee the development and refinement of master specifications, standard details, and Revit/BIM standards.
  • Partner with leadership to enhance technical performance, improve documentation quality, and reinforce best practices across project teams.
  • Review architectural drawings, specifications, and construction documents to ensure coordination, technical accuracy, code compliance, and adherence to JLG standards.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable building codes, regulations, and JLG quality standards throughout project development and delivery.
  • Collaborate with project teams to resolve technical issues and uphold quality standards throughout all phases of project delivery.
  • Stay current with evolving building codes, construction technologies, and industry best practices.
  • Maintain a high level of quality while ensuring all work aligns with JLG standards.
  • Mentor and train staff in documentation standards, construction methods, and technical best practices.
  • Serve as a firmwide technical expert, providing expert guidance on design documentation, constructability, and quality assurance standards.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to direct reports through coaching, mentoring, performance management, and professional development.
  • Responsible for daily supervision of direct reports, including conducting 1:1s, reviewing timecards, managing time-off requests, and monitoring active workload and priorities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture from a NAAB-accredited program.
  • Professional Architecture License.
  • 10+ years of professional architectural experience.
  • 3+ years in a role involving quality assurance and quality control oversight.
  • Expert knowledge of multiple project types and climate zones.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to excellence.
  • Expert knowledge of building systems, codes, and construction documentation.
  • Ability to mentor, coach, and develop others.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, Revit, and BIM workflows.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate across teams.
  • Exceptional organizational, analytical, time management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to travel – 25%.
