Job description

Job Title: Senior Project Scheduler

Location: Wheatfield, IN (Hybrid - Monday & Friday Remote, Tuesday-Thursday Onsite)

Duration: 1-Year Contract with possible extensions

Rate: $50 - $70/hr (W2) + 401k 4% Match

Category: Major Projects

Position Overview

We are seeking a Senior Project Scheduler to support large-scale capital and major project initiatives by developing, maintaining, analyzing, and optimizing integrated project schedules. This role will be responsible for schedule development, schedule forecasting, schedule risk analysis, and project controls activities while partnering closely with Project Managers, Engineers, Cost Analysts, Construction Teams, and Executive Leadership.

The ideal candidate has extensive Primavera P6 scheduling experience, strong project controls expertise, and experience supporting large industrial, utility, engineering, or construction projects.

Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma and 4+ years of experience as a Project Scheduler; OR
  • High School Diploma and 6+ years of construction/engineering experience, including at least 2 years as a Project Scheduler; OR
  • Bachelor's Degree and 4+ years of Project Scheduling experience
  • Advanced proficiency with Primavera P6 scheduling software
  • Strong understanding of project scope, schedule, cost, risk, and quality management
  • Experience developing and maintaining integrated project schedules
  • Strong analytical and forecasting skills
  • Experience utilizing project management standards, processes, and project controls methodologies
  • Ability to lead schedule-related discussions and influence project stakeholders
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Valid Driver's License
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree and 4+ years of Project Scheduling experience
  • Experience in large industrial capital project environments
  • Advanced schedule analysis and forecasting capabilities
  • Experience developing schedule databases and schedule hierarchies
  • Experience performing quantitative schedule risk analysis
  • Strong project controls and reporting experience
Key ResponsibilitiesSchedule Development & Planning
  • Develop and maintain integrated project schedules using Primavera P6
  • Build project baselines that incorporate scope, schedule, risk, and quality requirements
  • Establish schedule hierarchies, logic relationships, resource requirements, and milestone tracking
  • Support life-cycle planning and scheduling activities across major projects
Schedule Analysis & Forecasting
  • Perform schedule assessments, variance analysis, and forecasting activities
  • Develop predictive schedule forecasts utilizing quantitative risk management techniques
  • Identify schedule risks and opportunities and recommend corrective, preventive, and predictive actions
  • Analyze project performance and proactively identify schedule recovery opportunities
Risk & Project Controls
  • Integrate schedule management with risk management and quality management processes
  • Apply Expected Monetary Value (EMV), sensitivity analysis, and forecasting techniques
  • Support integrated project controls efforts across schedule, cost, and risk functions
  • Monitor baseline performance and recommend mitigation strategies
Contract & Performance Management
  • Review contractor schedule performance and contract compliance
  • Support contract performance assessments and schedule forecasting activities
  • Evaluate schedule impacts associated with contract changes and project modifications
  • Provide recommendations to Project Managers and Project Controls leadership
Reporting & Stakeholder Communication
  • Prepare standard and executive-level schedule reports and dashboards
  • Present schedule findings, recommendations, and performance metrics to project stakeholders
  • Communicate schedule risks, opportunities, and recovery strategies effectively
  • Serve as a scheduling subject matter expert for project teams and leadership
Continuous Improvement
  • Support development and enhancement of scheduling tools, techniques, and processes
  • Promote integration of people, processes, systems, and project controls best practices
  • Drive adoption of project management standards and scheduling methodologies
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives across the Project Controls organization
