Equipment Engineer
Location: Santa Clara, CA
Duration: 6–8 Month Contract
 
Position Summary
Client is seeking an Equipment Engineer to support manufacturing equipment throughout its lifecycle, including design review, installation, commissioning, validation, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement. This role will partner with Manufacturing, Quality, Validation, and R&D teams to ensure reliable and compliant manufacturing operations.
 
Key Responsibilities
Own manufacturing and test equipment throughout its lifecycle.
Lead FAT/SAT activities.
Support installation, commissioning, and release to production.
Develop URS, FRS, risk assessments, PM procedures, and engineering documentation.
Plan and execute IQ/OQ/PQ protocols.
Support FDA and internal audits.
Drive equipment reliability initiatives through RCA and CAPA.
Manage preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
Troubleshoot robotic, pneumatic, electrical, and mechanical systems.
Collaborate with Manufacturing, R&D, Quality, Validation, and suppliers.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, Biomedical Engineering, or related discipline.
4–8+ years supporting capital equipment in regulated manufacturing.
Experience with robotics, automation, or custom manufacturing equipment.
Strong understanding of GMP, FDA QSR, ISO 13485, and Design Controls.
Experience supporting IQ/OQ/PQ and validation documentation.
Excellent troubleshooting and project management skills.
