Waddell Serafino is seeking anย Associate Attorneyย withย 3โ5 years of experienceย inย commercial finance, real estate, and/or corporate litigation and transactional mattersย to join its Dallas office.
This role involves working closely with shareholders to representย banks, financial institutions, and borrowersย in matters related to commercial lending and commercial real estate, with a strong focus onย complex commercial litigation.
Qualifications
- J.D. from an accredited law school
- Licensed and in good standing to practice law in Texas
- 3โ5 years of relevant legal experience
- Strong background inย civil litigation, particularly commercial finance, real estate, and/or corporate matters
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to independently manage a high-volume caseload in a fast-paced environment
- Willingness to travel as needed
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a docket of complex litigation matters from inception through resolution
- Draft motions, pleadings, memoranda, briefs, and legal correspondence
- Conduct legal research and analyze statutes, case law, and legal codes
- Manage all phases of discovery, including:
- Written discovery requests and responses
- Electronic document production
- Taking and defending depositions
- Develop case strategy and oversee case management
- Prepare for and attend hearings, depositions, trials, and appeals
- Handle matters involving:
- Business torts
- Breach of contract
- Banking regulations
- Corporate governance
- Fraud
- Foreign judgments
- Injunctions
- Real estate disputes
- Pre-litigation strategy
- Complex discovery and e-discovery
- Communicate with clients, courts, and opposing counsel
- Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, and legal support staff
