Job description

Meta is currently seeking a Contract Manufacturing Manager that will lead and be responsible for the business relationship with our CM/ODM partners to build our innovative AR/VR products. In this role, you will lead the cross-functional efforts to identify, engage and enable the best partner for our consumer hardware business. You will be responsible for developing the strategic relationship with our partners, including negotiating commercial agreements, costs, optimizing the collaboration between the teams and developing long term strategy to grow a robust partnership. You will work closely with Hardware engineering, Operations, Finance, Legal, Supply Chain Strategy and other cross-functional teams to create an efficient and innovative supply chain to support successful builds, ramps, and sustaining operations.
Responsibilities
Identify and engage the Contract Manufacturer, Joint Development Manufacturer, Original Design Manufacturer partners to enable the cutting-edge technologies and products with best-in-class quality, delivery and cost
• Develop, sustain and grow a meaningful relationship with our partners to influence their strategy, ensuring best support to our product and advanced technology development
• Lead new product RFP/RFQ and business award process, including establishing supplier selection criteria, evaluating suppliers, managing the supplier selection process, and driving final supplier selection in partnership with engineering, technical operations, quality and supplier chain teams
• Negotiate commercial agreements with best-in-class pricing, flexibility, quality, delivery, payment, warranty and service terms to meet both technical, operational and commercial requirements (including Manufacturing Value Add, Non-Recurring Expense & CapEx)
• Manage budget process for Opex and CapEx with cross-function teams and various levels of management, reporting spend vs actual
• Lead and manage cost optimization opportunities with partner and internal cross-functional teams, including leading design and cost trade-off conversation during development stages to influence production design and manufacturing processes for the best decision of the product
• Develop and implement supplier performance measurement systems and conduct periodic supplier business reviews with the management and cross functional teams, and follow through with subsequent improvement actions plans
• Collaborate with the strategy team to develop our CM supplier strategies (including EMS industry, global business climate and competitive landscape)
• Develop relationships with key stakeholders to identify opportunities to leverage our partners capability to grow our business
• Manage escalations from the teams and address the concerns with the partner to drive short-term and long-term improvement actions
Minimum Qualifications
• 8+ years of progressive Supply Chain experience with primary focus on Contract Manufacturing in the high-volume hardware manufacturing
• Proven background in supplier/evaluation/selection, predictive cost models, contract negotiations and supply base management
• Experience working in and managing high volume, consumer electronic product launches and delivery
Preferred Qualifications
• Broad experience in factory operations, quality, hardware and electrical engineering, product safety and compliance, logistics and trade compliance
• Experience navigating through ambiguity and prioritize multiple work threads to maximize impact
• Master degree in a related engineering discipline or MBA
• Willingness to travel (10-15% of time) and open to work with different time zones
• 8+ years of experience leading supply base management across Asia, including supplier performance management and cross-functional operations
• Experience building Supplier Relationships
• Experience communicating and influencing all levels of management
• BS degree in a related engineering discipline or equivalent experience
• Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize/redesign workflows and drive measurable impact (e.g., efficiency gains, quality improvements)
• Experience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews)
• Demonstrated ongoing AI skill development (e.g., prompt/context engineering, agent orchestration) and staying current with emerging AI technologies
