As we continue to expand, we are seeking a skilled Staff Accountant with expertise in government cost accounting to join our team.

Bascom Hunter is looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Staff Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles, government regulations, and compliance requirements specific to the aerospace and defense industry. Experience with Deltek Costpoint is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, analyze, and report financial data accurately and timely, ensuring compliance with government regulations and company policies.
  • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and adherence to accounting standards.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Support the development and monitoring of budgets, forecasts, and cost allocations.
  • Ensure compliance with government cost accounting standards (CAS) and Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR).
  • Prepare and review cost reports, invoices, and other financial documents for government contracts.
  • Conduct audits and reviews of financial transactions to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Collaborate with project managers and other departments to provide financial insights and support for decision-making.
  • Assist with internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations as needed.
  • Continuously improve accounting processes and procedures to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting, with a focus on government cost accounting.
  • Proficiency in accounting software; experience with Deltek Costpoint is a plus.
  • Understanding of government cost accounting standards (CAS) and Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) is a plus.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
