Job description

Scope of Responsibilities: Oversees the day-to-day operations of the Pharmacy department. Assists in the training and development of subordinate staff, estimating personnel needs, assigning work, meeting completion dates, interpreting and ensuring consistent application of organizational policies. Relies on experience and professional judgment to plan and accomplish assigned tasks and goals.

 

Job Summary: Responsible for the implementation and adherence to the Kinney Standard of Practice as it relates to the provision of the highest quality health care service to our customers


Job Duties:

  • Follows the Kinney Standard of Practice to dispense prescriptions and counsel patients
  • Performs all quality assurance steps to ensure a technically accurate prescription is dispensed. Reports dispensing incidents in a timely manner, in accordance with company guidelines
  • Follows all State and Federal guidelines governing the practice of Pharmacy
  • Oversees the initial submission, resubmission and collection of all third party claims
  • Manages and balances the pharmacy inventory to provide for maximum turns while still remaining in-stock for customer needs. Oversees the transmitting, processing and receiving of orders to and from the Kinney Warehouse and additional suppliers as needed
  • Oversees the checking of pharmacy inventory for outdates and processing of all returns
  • Ensures prescription files and other manual records are maintained in accordance with all state and federal guidelines
  • Ensures in-store pharmacy technology is being used to its fullest potential to allow for a maximum return on investment of the technology and life span
  • Ensure outstanding customer service is exhibited by all employees at all times
  • Ensure all loss Prevention policies are followed by all employees and report deviations from said policies to Loss Prevention
  • Assist in the implementation of all corporate pharmacy marketing, advertising and promotional programs are fully executed and implemented
  • Oversees the maintenance of the pharmacy department to ensure a clean and professional environment
  • Maintains and develops professional relationships with doctors and others in the health service professions
  • Maintains an awareness of developments in the Pharmacy and Health Care Services fields that relate to job responsibilities and integrates them into own practice
  • Maintains confidentiality regarding all patient information
  • Facilitates communication between professional staff and pharmacy personnel.
  • Assists in meeting or exceeding budgetary sales guidelines and operating the pharmacy within said guidelines
  • Assist in the training and development of all pharmacy department personnel, including use of the Kinney Pharmacy Clerk and Technician Training Program
  • Interface with various auditors and outside agencies, as needed
  • Responsible for completing all mandatory and regulatory training programs
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Education:

  • Minimum: BS or Pharm D degree in Pharmacy

 Compensation:

$65.00 - $74.05 an hour

The final offer will be determined after careful consideration of multiple factors such as relevant skills, years of experience and education.
