We are seeking a Data Science Consultant with expertise in Oncology to help pharmaceutical clients address complex business challenges through data-driven insights and advanced analytics. This role requires a strong blend of oncology domain knowledge, consulting capabilities, stakeholder management, and analytical problem-solving skills.

The ideal candidate will act as a bridge between business stakeholders and analytics teams, translating strategic questions into structured analytical approaches, guiding solution development, and synthesizing insights into actionable recommendations. The role is highly client-facing and requires the ability to navigate ambiguity, frame business problems, and influence decision-making through compelling storytelling.


Roles & Responsibilities

  • Partner with commercial, medical, market access, and brand stakeholders to understand oncology-related business challenges and translate them into analytical workstreams.
  • Develop and guide analytics initiatives focused on patient journey, treatment pathways, line of therapy (LOT), brand performance, opportunity assessment, competitive intelligence, and market dynamics.
  • Leverage real-world data and secondary data assets to generate actionable insights that support business decision-making.
  • Interpret analytical outputs and contextualize findings within the oncology treatment landscape.
  • Collaborate with data science, engineering, and analytics teams to ensure successful execution and delivery of high-quality solutions.
  • Present findings, recommendations, and strategic narratives to senior client stakeholders.
  • Drive problem-solving discussions, requirement gathering sessions, and solutioning workshops in a consulting environment.
  • Contribute to thought leadership, capability development, and best practices within the oncology analytics space.
  • Mentor junior team members and support cross-functional collaboration to deliver impactful outcomes.


Skills Required

Oncology Domain Expertise

  • Strong understanding of the oncology therapeutic area, including patient pathways, disease progression, treatment regimens, and evolving standards of care.
  • Familiarity with concepts such as Line of Therapy (LOT), biomarker testing, treatment sequencing, patient adherence, and clinical outcomes.
  • Knowledge of oncology commercial use cases including brand performance, patient analytics, forecasting, opportunity assessments, and competitive landscape evaluation.
  • Understanding of payer dynamics, reimbursement considerations, and market access strategies in oncology is preferred.

Pharma Data Expertise

Experience working with pharmaceutical datasets, including:

  • Claims and EMR data (IQVIA, Symphony, Komodo, Truveta, Flatiron)
  • Rx data (IQVIA NPA, NBRx, TRx)
  • Sales and promotional data
  • Epidemiology and patient-level data
  • Market access and payer datasets (MMIT, Fingertip Formulary, DRG Access & Reimbursement)

Consulting & Analytical Skills

  • Strong consulting mindset with the ability to structure ambiguous business problems into actionable analytical approaches.
  • Excellent communication, storytelling, and executive presentation skills.
  • Ability to synthesize complex analyses into meaningful business recommendations.
  • Experience working in client-facing consulting engagements and managing stakeholder relationships.
  • Familiarity with analytical and visualization tools is preferred, though deep hands-on technical expertise is not required.
