Job description

Hi, we're Oscar. We're hiring a Senior Specialist, Process Improvement to join our Authorization Services Process Improvement team.

About the role:

You will work with business and technical Oscar team members and represent the needs and interests of the department in company wide strategic programs and in solving business problems related to internal processes. You will collect and document requirements, build and manage project plans, document important project decisions and analyze data. You will support the design, optimization, and implementation of processes and improvements to support achieving organizational goals. You will implement repeatable and scalable tools and techniques, and for independently representing the team within the broader organization.

You will report into Manager, Process Improvements.

Work Location: This is a remote position, open to candidates who reside in: Atlanta, Georgia. You will be fully remote; however, our approach to work may adapt over time. Future models could potentially involve a hybrid presence at the hub office associated with your metro area. #LI-Remote

Pay Transparency: The base pay for this role is: $67,813.20- $89,004.83 per year. You are also eligible for employee benefits, participation in Oscar's unlimited vacation program and annual performance bonuses.

Responsibilities:

  • With support from leadership, help identify risks; respond to and resolve issues/errors/escalations through investigation to inform insights for short/medium/long-term technology-enabled processes and solutions
  • Coordinate projects and processes to help ensure you meet important milestones and service levels
  • Partner with leadership to strategize arrangements aimed at lowering overall cost or improving outcomes
  • Work with all relevant team member groups to provide support and insight in formulating proactive implementation, communications, and program strategies for successful change management and risk mitigation programs
  • Maintain relationships with a variety of teams to achieve results for essential programs
  • Translate data analysis into synthesized, visually appealing insights and conclusions
  • Provide analytical support to identify opportunities, develop strategies, and prioritize projects based on team or organizational opportunities, growth targets and trends
  • Support implementing process improvement projects and mindset shifts, to improve operational efficiency and achieve performance targets
  • Compliance with all applicable laws and regulations
  • Other responsibilities as assigned

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of professional experience supporting end-to-end project management and process improvement projects
  • 2+ years of experience analyzing workflows to improve for efficiency, determine causes for process deficiencies and, develop relevant recommendations for resolution
  • 2+ years of experience in process improvement and workflow design
  • 2+ years of experience presenting information and recommendations aimed at Senior Leadership
  • Experience leading and working with team members to get agreement on decision

Bonus points:

  • Prior work experience in Prior Authorizations or Insurance Operations
  • Experience using project management and communication tools like JIRA, Linear, and Slack
  • ACA marketplace, provider network, claims, healthcare quality, or provider data experience
  • Training experience applying Continuous Process Improvement or Lean Six Sigma principles
  • Experience working with large datasets, data verification, and data management
