Job description

Job Summary:
Raytheon is committed to helping the nation and allies defend freedoms and deter aggression through advanced engineering solutions. The software team in Fort Wayne is seeking a Software Engineer II to participate in developing, testing, and integrating complex software systems for defense applications.
Responsibilities:
• Participate in collaborative, cross-discipline integrated product teams, employ agile software development techniques and resources to develop, test, and integrate complex software and systems solutions for aerospace and defense applications
• Work collaboratively with Systems and Integration Test Engineers to analyze, implement and test system
Qualifications:
Required:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) or similar degree
• Minimum of two (2) or more years of professional experience in software development, integration, and/or test using C++, Java, Ada or similar object-oriented software language
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government-issued Secret security clearance required, note only U.S. Citizen can obtain security clearance
Preferred:
• Desire and ability to learn new technologies and tools
• Proven self-motivated problem solver who can look at a situation, identify gaps or issues, and take initiative to resolve them (technically, with process, and with documentation)
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with time-critical requirements
• Experience contributing in a team environment for the purpose of developing creative solutions to difficult technical problems
• Experience developing software using Agile techniques such as Scrum, Scrum @ Scale, SAFe or Test-Driven Development
• Experience with integrated development tools such as Azure, Git, Atlassian Suite, Eclipse, and Ansible
• Experience working in a continuous integration/continuous development (CI/CD) pipeline such as Gitlab, Jenkins, or GitHub
• Experience with Linux, VxWorks, INTEGRITY, or other RTOS
• Experience leveraging Generative AI and Machine Learning to improve productivity, collaboration, and performance
• Knowledge of Red Hat and/or Linux Operating Systems
• Exposure to Open Systems Architectures and modular design principles
