This is a remote position.

Position Overview

GEO Academies is seeking an IT Support Specialist to provide reliable technical assistance to employees and support the organization’s day-to-day technology operations. This position will assist users with hardware, software, account access, connectivity, and other common technical issues while ensuring support requests are documented and addressed efficiently.

The successful candidate will have strong troubleshooting abilities, excellent communication skills, and the ability to explain technical information clearly to individuals with different levels of technical experience.

Key Responsibilities

* Provide remote technical support to employees experiencing hardware, software, connectivity, or account-related issues.
* Respond to technical support requests and maintain accurate service records.
* Troubleshoot computers, peripherals, business applications, and connectivity problems.
* Assist employees with account access, password issues, and basic system configuration.
* Support the setup and deployment of computers, peripherals, and other technology equipment.
* Assist with onboarding and technology setup for new employees.
* Configure and support commonly used workplace applications and productivity tools.
* Help maintain accurate technology equipment and asset records.
* Escalate complex technical issues to the appropriate IT personnel or service provider.
* Document troubleshooting steps, solutions, and recurring technical issues.
* Assist with software updates, device maintenance, and routine technology checks.
* Support user access and permissions in accordance with established procedures.
* Promote appropriate cybersecurity and technology-use practices.
* Assist with testing new hardware, software, and technology solutions.
* Help identify recurring technical problems and recommend practical improvements.
* Maintain confidentiality when handling employee, organizational, or system information.
* Perform other technology-related duties as assigned.


Requirements
* High school diploma or equivalent.
* At least one year of experience in IT support, help desk operations, technical support, or a related field.
* Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
* Experience providing technical assistance remotely.
* Familiarity with Windows-based computers and common business applications.
* Working knowledge of Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, or comparable productivity platforms.
* Ability to communicate technical information clearly to non-technical users.
* Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
* Ability to prioritize multiple support requests and meet established deadlines.
* Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a remote team.

Preferred Qualifications

* Associate or bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, information systems, or a related field.
* CompTIA A+, Network+, or another relevant technical certification.
* Experience with help desk or ticketing systems.
* Experience supporting Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, or similar cloud-based platforms.
* Familiarity with device management, user administration, networking, or cybersecurity practices.
* Experience supporting technology within an education, nonprofit, corporate, or multi-site environment.
* Experience working with geographically distributed or remote teams.
