Job description

About the Role

As a Content Marketing Strategist, you direct content marketing strategy and execution for assigned client accounts, ensuring every content program is strategically grounded and delivers measurable results. You partner closely with account teams, strategists, designers, and media planners to build content programs that translate client business objectives into audience growth, lead generation, and proven value.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of strategy and craft. A writer and editor at heart who thinks like a marketer, owns performance outcomes, and brings clear editorial direction to every client engagement. You build content programs that aren't just on-brand, but genuinely useful to the audiences they're meant to reach.

As AI continues to transform content marketing and digital strategy, you embrace tools that accelerate research, drafting, optimization, and reporting while recognizing that editorial judgment, brand voice, and strategic storytelling remain uniquely human and central to what makes content programs distinctive rather than generic.

Responsibilities

Here are some, but not necessarily all, of your responsibilities:

  • Develop and own client content marketing strategy. You define editorial direction, content pillars, distribution strategy, and performance targets for assigned client accounts. Every content program you build starts with a clear plan tied to measurable business outcomes.
  • Oversee content execution across formats. You manage the production of content including website content, blog posts, white papers, social content, email campaigns, video scripts, and thought leadership. You ensure quality, brand consistency, and strategic alignment across everything that publishes.
  • Track performance and optimize programs. You monitor content performance against KPIs, identify what is working, and adjust strategy based on data. You provide clients with reporting that demonstrates the value of their content investment and informs the next phase of work.
  • Integrate content across channels. You ensure content strategy connects with SEO/AEO, paid media, social, and email efforts. Content does not live in a silo. You make sure it supports and amplifies every channel in the client's marketing mix.
  • Collaborate across teams to support client success. You work closely with strategists, designers, media planners, and account teams to align content programs with broader marketing and business objectives. You contribute ideas, share insights, and help ensure content initiatives support larger campaign goals.
  • Leverage AI and emerging technologies thoughtfully. You use AI-powered tools to support content drafting, headline optimization, competitive analysis, topic research, and workflow efficiency. You understand that technology can improve speed and scale, while human judgment remains critical when shaping editorial strategy, positioning a brand, and delivering content that resonates.

What You'll Need

  • 5+ years of experience in content marketing, content strategy, editorial, or a related field
  • Demonstrated experience developing and managing content programs that drive measurable business results
  • Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills with the ability to adapt voice and messaging across clients, industries, and formats
  • Experience creating or overseeing content across formats including web, long-form, social, email, video scripts, and thought leadership
  • Ability to translate business objectives into editorial strategy with clear content pillars, distribution plans, and KPIs
  • Strong analytical skills and comfort using data to evaluate content performance and inform strategic decisions
  • Familiarity with SEO/AEO principles and how content integrates with broader digital marketing channels
  • Experience working in an agency environment and managing multiple client brands simultaneously
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to present strategy confidently to clients and collaborate across teams
  • Healthcare and/or regulated industry experience is a plus
  • Familiarity with AI-powered content and research tools is a plus
  • A strategic mindset, intellectual curiosity, and genuine passion for content as a growth channel

What Makes TrendyMinds a Great Place to Work

We believe a happy team is a solid team; it's as simple as that.

  • Fully remote: We believe the best team is one that isn't limited by proximity to a physical location. Whether it's the West Coast or the East Coast, we work with team members across all of the U.S. time zones.
  • Collaborative team environment: Your voice is important, and we believe the best projects include contributions from everyone.
  • Great benefits: 30 paid days off and 401(k) matching. What more could you ask? Oh yeah, we cover 100% of health insurance premiums for all team members and 50% for their spouses and dependents.
  • Flexible schedule: Some people are early birds who love collaborating in-person at our offices. Others are night owls who enjoy working from home. We are flexible to accommodate different work styles, times, and locations - within reason and the needs of our clients - of course!
  • New equipment: In order to produce incredible work, we have to have incredible equipment. Sorry if you were hoping for a 7-year-old PC. That's just not our style.
  • Philanthropy: We like to do our part to help our community. With our philanthropy committee and donation matching system, we offer you the resources you need to make a difference.

  • Put relationships first. We not me. For more than 25 years, we've grown a business built on strong relationships with clients. But we also know that developing trust and a collaborative spirit is equally important to cultivate a healthy team that loves having fun.
  • Think Ahead and push boundaries. Our tagline isn't Think Ahead for nothing. We bring a contagious passion to our craft, always searching for creative ways to challenge ourselves and deliver results, even though things don't always go according to plan. Don't be afraid to make mistakes, improve, and try again.
  • Bring your full self. Show up. Each of us has something unique to contribute. In all that we do, we celebrate diversity and strive to create an equitable, inclusive environment so that everyone feels a sense of belonging.
