About the Role:

You will write and edit user-focused content that supports marketing communications campaigns and member engagement goals across channels and formats (both digital and print). You will write and edit both long-form and short-form content, translating complex or technical subject matter into compelling, and accurate content tailored to specific audiences. The writer brings curiosity and creativity to their role, and uses AI tools while maintaining editorial standards. You will report to the Senior Manager - Writing & Editing as an individual contributor. You will use a hybrid work schedule.

You Will:

  • Translate technical, specialized, or complex subject matter into clear, accurate, and compelling content. This content supports campaign strategies to reach audiences with varying levels of familiarity. To achieve this, conduct research and subject-matter expert interviews.
  • Develop concise and engaging short-form copy that creates action. This copy is audience-driven and align with brand and editorial guidelines. Examples of this type of copy include digital ad copy, emails, social posts, web copy, event signage, and video scripts.
  • Write and edit long-form content, such as articles, reports, blog posts, and experience pieces. This content should tell a cohesive, engaging story. It must align with brand and editorial guidelines, meet specific audience needs, and optimize content for search engines and generative AI engines when applicable. The content should support our strategic goals.
  • Collaborate with internal subject-matter experts, campaign managers, designers, multimedia managers, magazine publishers, web publishers, and other team partners. This collaboration helps gather inputs and ensures accuracy, clarity, and agreement to campaign strategy.
  • Apply an understanding of different content types, formats, and channels-and how they support the user journey-to written content creation to achieve specific marketing and communications goals.
  • Edit content created by fellow writers, internal subject-matter experts, freelancers, Association members, and others, ensuring high quality and agreement to brand and style guidelines while maintaining author voice and technical accuracy.
  • Use AIenabled writing, research, and editing tools responsibly to improve efficiency, creativity and output quality while maintaining human judgment, editorial integrity, and brand alignment.

You Have:

  • Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Communications, Marketing, or a related field, or equivalent combination of professional experience
  • 3 years' experience writing both longform and shortform content for a variety of channels in a marketing, communications, editorial, or agency environment
  • Experience writing content for technical or B2B audiences.
  • A portfolio of writing samples demonstrating range, quality, and audiencefocused storytelling
