In this role, the Coordinator will with and report to the Development Specialist to advance the organization's fund development, marketing campaigns, and donor cultivation and retention efforts. As part of the Communities In Schools of Chesterfield team, you will be joining a group of passionate, hardworking, and mission-driven individuals. This work is fun, creative, fulfilling, and challenging.Job Description:
Essential Job Functions:
  • Develops and implements a comprehensive annual communications plan

  • Organizes, catalogs, and maintains media coverage, media archives, and photo library

  • Produces content for social media platforms. Schedules posts to ensure consistent and timely communication, and tracks analytics to improve engagement.

  • Designs and sends monthly eNewsletter to stakeholders, highlighting key achievements, upcoming events, and relevant information.

  • Identifies grant opportunities aligned with organizational goals, Prepares and submits grant proposals as needed.

  • Updates and maintains website content with current news, events, and other relevant information.

  • Assists with coordinating logistics, marketing, and volunteer support for organizational fundraising events

  • Supports the execution of development and communications related meetings

  • Supports the Development Specialist with donor cultivation, implementing stewardship strategies, and monitoring retention rates to develop long-term engagement strategies.

  • Designs communications collateral, such as brochures, flyers, and presentations

  • Ensures donor records are current, and prepares and sends acknowledgements to donors

  • Perform regular database maintenance and clean-up to ensure data integrity and accessibility

  • Takes meeting minutes for development and communication related meetings

  • Participates in donor prospecting to solicit new funding opportunities

  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with donors, community representatives, schools, students, families, and the general public.. Proficiency in Microsoft & Google applications, a donor database management system such as Network For Good, Canva, and Wordpress website management. Experience with social media campaign development, crafting newsletters, and artistic/creative interests. Highly organized, with strong communication, interpersonal, and writing skills, with a keen attention to detail. Demonstrated sound judgment and decision-making skills, with sensitivity to the nature of work performed.
Additional Job Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree and 3 - 5 years experience is preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience. Prior experience with donor database systems is preferred.
