Description
The Content and Growth Specialist supports the Dean of the College of Business (CoB) in advancing the growth and visibility of the College through strategic content creation, communication, and collaboration with various University of New England (UNE) departments and stakeholders. This role supports the external engagement efforts of UNE, the CoB, the College's programs and centers, and the Dean, faculty, and professional staff.
The Specialist is responsible for identifying, creating, and supporting cross-functional digital content, including long- and short-form web stories, social media posts, videos, photos, and marketing copy. This position also assists with research activities, manages the CoB's database, and uses creative approaches, including coding, AI, and other digital tools, to support recruitment, enhance visibility, and strengthen the CoB's reputation across digital platforms. A strong comfort level with digital tools and emerging technologies is essential.
Key responsibilities include partnering with units across UNE to produce digital content and support website enhancements. The Specialist provides editorial oversight for content across various digital platforms, including the CoB's UNE website, the Dean's website, social media, and other related channels. This role also collaborates with the CoB Advisory Board to support successful communication, engagement, and outreach initiatives.
The Specialist designs and develops materials and programs for the CoB from concept to completion, ensuring alignment with UNE and CoB brand objectives. This position delivers high-quality, creative solutions that support enrollment, expand reach, and increase engagement among students, alumni, and external audiences. Additionally, the Specialist manages the CoB Dean's brand and outreach efforts in support of the College's marketing and recruitment goals.

Responsibilities
  • Drive the creation of content through research, industry engagement, and student activities.
  • Take a student-centered approach to all work, with a focus on prospective students, current students, and alumni.
  • Understand and implement modern digital and AI tools to support outreach, engagement, and the targeting of prospective students.
  • Develop and manage content for the CoB Dean, including videos, websites, social media, and traditional communication channels.
  • Produce marketing content for the University website, CoB channels, and other platforms in a variety of formats, including editorial stories, marketing copy, video production, and photography. Work independently or coordinate with team specialists based on project needs.
  • Develop strong, collaborative relationships and communicate regularly with key internal stakeholders, including faculty, administrators, and students, to source stories and identify content opportunities.
  • Continuously enhance user experiences and content across une.edu.
  • Help manage CoB and CoB Dean digital channels, including working within a content management system to manage users, events, profiles, and other web content.
  • Work proficiently within the content management system, currently Drupal, and train others on basic CMS tasks, such as updating profiles and adding calendar items.
  • Develop, produce, and distribute the regular CoB newsletter.
  • Develop, produce, and share the CoB Dean vlog.
  • Support the CoB Dean with written publications, including writing, editing, and promotion.
  • Build strong, collaborative partnerships within the Office of Communications and Marketing and across the University to develop and support high-quality content for the web and other platforms.
  • Monitor digital content on the UNE website to ensure brand compliance.
  • Promote creative alignment with University branding across all projects.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in digital marketing, English, communications, journalism, marketing, or a related field required.
  • Two or more years of applicable experience in communications, marketing, and/or digital communications required, or a combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills are acquired.
  • Degree or training in AI considered an asset.
  • Graduate degree preferred.
  • Strong understanding of web technologies and digital tools, including website content management systems (CMS), AI tools, VLOOKUP, and social media platforms.
  • Excellent written communication skills, including experience with APA or similar formatting and writing for both print and digital platforms.
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to develop collaborative partnerships and build trust within the organization.
  • Ability to cultivate productive relationships with faculty, staff, administrators, students, and external audiences.
  • Strong project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet strict deadlines.
