Location: US Remote - East Coast
Department: Global Marketing

Salary Range: $200k - $250k
About Bavarian Nordic
Bavarian Nordic is a global vaccine company focused on helping to protect lives through innovative vaccines, public health partnership, and expanded access to disease prevention.
We work across emerging infectious diseases, travel health, and public health preparedness to help communities, healthcare providers, pharmacies, and health systems improve vaccine awareness, access, and delivery.
With a growing commercial portfolio and strong global partnerships, Bavarian Nordic is evolving how vaccines are supported across healthcare ecosystems - combining scientific innovation with customer engagement, education, and public health impact.
Position Overview
As Global Consumer Director, you will lead the development and execution of Bavarian Nordic's global consumer engagement strategy, bringing our culture and values to life through every initiative. You will drive impactful patient-focused campaigns that build awareness, strengthen engagement, and support adherence across both digital and non-digital channels. Working across markets and functions, you will ensure a cohesive and meaningful consumer experience that delivers value to patients and supports our business objectives.
This is a role that combines strategic thinking with operational execution.
Key Responsibilities
  • Identify critical moments and barriers in the patient journey, designing content and programs to address unmet consumers' needs

  • Partner with Insights, Global Brand Management, Global Digital and local teams to uncover insights, validate opportunities, and optimize marketing investments
  • Build global consumer guidelines and core claims documentation to ensure consistency and excellence across markets and channels
  • Manage agency partnerships and oversee consumer marketing budgets, ensuring efficient investment and measurable business impact
  • Compile and manage the global Consumer budget, challenging activities and priorities to ensure optimal allocation of resources and maximum return on investment
Qualifications
Success in this role requires a strategist who is equally comfortable challenging the status quo and rolling up their sleeves to solve operational challenges. You will work cross-functionally with local and global stakeholders, helping to shape marketing decisions, enhance customer engagement models, and build the scalable processes, capabilities, and insights needed to support our ambitious growth plans. Besides this, you bring:
  • Minimum BS/BA degree with MS/MBA preferred
  • 10+ years of consumer experience; 3+ years' experience in OTC is a plus
  • Experience in global consumer strategy and tactical planning with the ability to communicate ideas to internal partners and external agencies
  • Deep understanding of omni-channel
  • A track record of driving growth through effective customer engagement and key account management
  • Proven track record of influencing, aligning, and inspiring cross-functional stakeholders at all levels, building trust and cultivating strong relationships to achieve shared goals
  • Results-driven mindset with a high level of ownership, urgency, and resilience, consistently delivering on commitments while navigating obstacles and evolving business needs
  • Demonstrated ability to use data, insights, and structured analysis to inform decisions, challenge assumptions, and recommend evidence-based actions
  • Full proficiency in English (written and spoken) is essential

Why Join Us
Join a mission-driven global vaccine company at a pivotal stage of growth and evolution. At Bavarian Nordic, you'll have the opportunity to help shape innovative commercial programs, support public health initiatives, and contribute to how vaccines are accessed across healthcare channels.
