Job description

Commercial Electrical Project Manager/Estimator

The full-time, salaried Electrical License Holder Project Manager/Estimator with a minimum of 5 years' experience will oversee the full lifecycle of multiple electrical construction projects, ensuring compliance, safety, and profitability. They will combine technical expertise with leadership to manage budgets, schedules, labor, and client relationships, using their licensure to sign off on, permit, and supervise installations. The highly qualified candidate will hold an electrical license in North Carolina. Candidates who also hold a secondary license in South Carolina and Georgia will be given preferential consideration. The company will provide training, computers, trade tools necessary to be successful, continuing education, and pay license renewal fees, along with a competitive pay structure with paid holidays and time off. This position does require travel to and from projects, and the employee is provided with a company credit card and expense account.

Key Responsibilities

Compliance & Licensing: Act as the licensed professional responsible for ensuring all installations comply with the National Electrical Code (NEC), local codes, and OSHA standards.
Project Leadership: Oversee multiple projects from design through construction to final sign-off, ensuring timelines and budgets are met.
Planning & Procurement: Develop project plans, manage project budgets, prepare estimates, and procure materials and labor. Document and update leadership with job statuses in the company database.
Communication: Coordinate with clients, general contractors, engineers, and subcontractors, providing regular project status reports.
Field Management: Manage on-site foremen, resolve technical challenges, and ensure quality control.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Electrical License: Valid North Carolina Electrical License required.
Experience: Minimum 5 years proven experience in electrical construction project management.
Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of electrical design, blueprints, and electrical codes.
Software Proficiency: Experience with construction software and Microsoft Office.
Soft Skills: Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Desired Education

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field preferred, though extensive field experience with multiple licenses is often sufficient.
