This collaboration is essential for building trust with clients and ensuring successful project execution.

Job description

About the Role

At Holt Construction Group, we don’t just build projects. We build long-term partnerships.

We’re looking for an experienced Construction Sales Account Manager to join our team and serve as a trusted advisor to commercial property owners, apartment communities, senior living facilities, and insurance professionals throughout Central Indiana and the Midwest.

This is more than a sales position. You’ll own the entire client experience from the first phone call through final project completion. You’ll identify opportunities, develop scopes and estimates, coordinate subcontractors and project teams, solve problems, and deliver exceptional service that keeps customers coming back.

Our work spans everything from emergency restoration and insurance reconstruction to capital improvements, renovations, roofing, and ongoing maintenance. No two days are alike. One morning you may be responding to a water loss at an apartment community, while the afternoon is spent walking a property with a regional manager to scope a large renovation project.

The ideal candidate is self-motivated, organized, relationship-driven, and comfortable managing multiple projects simultaneously. You’ll have the support of an experienced team, but you’ll also have the autonomy to make decisions, manage your accounts, and build your own book of business.

If you enjoy solving problems, building lasting relationships, and seeing projects through from start to finish, we’d love to talk with you.

What You’ll Do

  • Develop and grow relationships with commercial property owners, property managers, maintenance teams, regional managers, facilities managers, and insurance professionals.
  • Generate new business while expanding existing customer accounts.
  • Visit project sites to evaluate conditions, identify customer needs, and develop scopes of work.
  • Prepare accurate construction estimates using industry estimating software. Experience with Xactimate is a plus but not required.
  • Present proposals, negotiate contracts, and close new business opportunities.
  • Manage projects from initial opportunity through final completion, ensuring an exceptional customer experience every step of the way.
  • Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, suppliers, and internal teams to keep projects on schedule and within budget.
  • Monitor project budgets, schedules, documentation, change orders, and profitability.
  • Communicate proactively with customers throughout each phase of the project.
  • Identify and resolve issues quickly while maintaining strong customer relationships.
  • Participate in a rotating after-hours emergency response schedule.

Projects You’ll Help Deliver

  • Fire and water damage restoration
  • Storm damage repairs
  • Insurance reconstruction
  • Commercial roofing
  • Interior renovations
  • Exterior renovations
  • Capital improvement (CapEx) projects
  • Apartment unit renovations
  • Commercial repairs
  • Preventative maintenance programs
  • Emergency response services

What We’re Looking For

Required

  • Three or more years of experience in commercial construction, restoration, construction sales, estimating, project management, or business development.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects from estimating through completion.
  • Experience coordinating subcontractors, vendors, or multiple construction trades.
  • Strong relationship-building, communication, and customer service skills.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Self-starter who works well independently while collaborating with a team.
  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.

Preferred

  • Commercial or multifamily construction experience.
  • Experience preparing construction estimates.
  • Xactimate estimating software experience.
  • Insurance restoration experience.
  • Experience working with insurance adjusters.
  • IICRC certifications.
  • Existing relationships within the multifamily, commercial, restoration, or insurance industries.

Physical Requirements

  • Occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Walk active construction sites.
  • Climb stairs and ladders as needed.
  • Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Occasionally respond to emergency job sites after normal business hours.

Company Description

Holt Construction Group is a family-owned commercial construction company serving multifamily, commercial, senior living, and institutional clients since 1986.
