Position Overview
The FastenMaster Division manufactures and markets innovative, premium quality wood- to-wood fasteners that are engineered to enable professional contractors to complete building projects safer, faster, and easier. The Sales Manager is responsible for leading and driving sales teams in a set region to deliver on targeted goals. This key position will track performance against sales targets, develop a field sales team through key performance activities and performance management, conduct market research, and clearly communicate with cross-functional teams as necessary on customer-facing programs. The Sales Manager must be a strong communicator, manage their time efficiently, possess strong organizational skills, and above all, be an enthusiastic team player.
Position Responsibilities
  • Promote Safety as the Number One priority of all OMG employees.
  • Lead and develop a field sales team to deliver sales action plans, implement programs in assigned territory to achieve sales targets, and forecast and develop sales quotas for assigned territory.
  • Utilize customer and field feedback to recommend service and product enhancements, improving sales potential and customer satisfaction.
  • Keep current with economic indicators, changing trends, supply and demand, and competitors' products and activities in the market.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with the territory customer base and provide end-user sales support.
  • Drive targeted fill rates in accordance with customer expectations and agreements by communicating consistently with the Operations and Distribution teams.
  • Manage sales expenses effectively, targeting annual cost reductions of 5%.
  • Partnering with cross-functional teams, develop, organize, and conduct annual company Sales Meetings.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned.

Position Requirements
  • Bachelor of Arts or Sciences Degree or equivalent.
  • 5+ years' Sales management experience with a proven track record of results.
  • Ability to hire, train and develop a world-class sales team.
  • Demonstrated ability to implement sales plans in the territory, evidencing strong team deployment and customer management skills.
  • Creative problem-solving and strong negotiation skills.
  • Ability to adapt and overcome ever-changing market conditions.
  • PC skills including experience with MS Office Suite and Salesforce.
  • Overnight hotel travel required 4-8 nights per month, with some after-hours required to meet customer demands. Occasional weekend events are also required (1-2 per year).
  • Positive can-do attitude.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to operate a motor vehicle while maintaining focus on safe driving and avoiding all distractions when behind the wheel, especially cell phones.
  • Manual material handling involving the need to grip, squeeze, and pinch.
  • Ability to utilize stepladders, extension, and fixed ladders.
  • The position requires the ability to regularly stand for long periods of time.
  • Ability to walk, stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, use hands to handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance; and occasionally lift/push/pull/carry up to 50 pounds.

Must be able to complete all essential job functions listed in the position responsibilities, with or without reasonable accommodation.
