TSMC Arizona is looking for Construction Safety Manager to join our F21 FAB project located in sunny Phoenix, Arizona. As a Construction Safety Manager, you will demonstrate a strong sense of reliability, enthusiasm, and will possess an attitude that embodies our core values - Integrity, Commitment, Innovation and Customer Trust.
The Construction Safety Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and enforcing safety programs to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations on construction projects. This role involves mentoring Safety Managers, coordinating subcontractor safety planning, reviewing safety documentation, and conducting site evaluations to ensure safe working environments. The Construction Safety Manager will monitor subcontractor practices, investigate incidents, and ensure proper employee training. Additionally, the role requires regular site audits and inspections to proactively identify and address safety concerns, promoting a culture of safety across all operations.
Responsibilities:
  • Develop, implement, and enforce corporate safety programs to ensure compliance with federal (OSHA), state, and local regulations.
  • Mentor and oversee Safety Managers, providing leadership and guidance.
  • Coordinate and lead subcontractor Pre-Construction Safety Planning Meetings, ensuring field compliance.
  • Review subcontractors' Site-Specific Safety Programs and Job Hazard Analyses before mobilization.
  • Conduct regular site evaluations, identify deficiencies, and ensure corrective actions are completed.
  • Monitor subcontractor Toolbox Talks for documentation accuracy and quality standards.
  • Investigate job site incidents using root cause analysis techniques and develop preventive measures.
  • Ensure subcontractors provide proper training to their employees based on the scope of work.
  • Perform routine construction site audits and random patrols to ensure safety compliance

Recruitment Requirements:
  • 10+ years of experience in Construction Health and Safety required.
  • Professional CHST (Construction Health and Safety Technician) certification required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction, Safety, or Engineering is preferred.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of federal and state safety and health regulations.
  • Proven leadership abilities with a track record of implementing effective safety practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational, planning, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Detail-oriented and able to handle multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
  • Confident and prompt decision-making with sound business judgment.
  • Adaptable to change and able to embrace new processes and innovations in safety management.

Personality Characteristics:
  • Highly enthusiastic and interested in semiconductor manufacturing facility construction.
  • Possess independent thinking, research, and operational abilities.
  • Ability to innovate, think quickly, and align with key stakeholders to provide solutions.

Physical Requirements:
  • May spend extended hours working inside and outside in all weather conditions, and in awkward body positions which can cause physical discomfort and strain.
  • Required to regularly lift up to 50 lbs and to adjust heavy objects.
  • The position will come in contact with sharp, hot, and cold equipment, and parts.
  • Must be medically qualified to wear a personal respirator.
  • Sensory demands include exposure to the smells associated with industrial chemical operations, exposure to the sounds associated with powered tools and industrial equipment.
  • Must have the ability to safely climb ladders, and work at elevation from ladders, scaffolding, lifts, roofs, or platforms, and the ability to work in confined spaces.

Candidates must be willing and able to work on-site at our Phoenix Arizona facility.
Standard work hours: Monday through Friday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM or 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM
