Position Value Proposition:

GrayWolf is seeking a technically strong Project Controls Engineer to support heavy industrial construction projects through advanced scheduling, modeling, and constructability planning. This role is intended for candidates with hands-on capability in Primavera P6, Navisworks, AutoCAD, and 3D lift-planning tools, with direct applicability to field execution and project controls.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain detailed project schedules using Primavera P6, including logic development, progress updates, and schedule analysis.
  • Support look-ahead planning, schedule impact evaluations, and recovery scenarios.
  • Utilize Navisworks (Simulate / Manage) for 4D sequencing, constructability reviews, and clash detection.
  • Create and modify AutoCAD drawings for site logistics, temporary works, construction layouts, and lift studies.
  • Develop and review crane and rigging studies using 3D Lift Plan or similar software.
  • Coordinate schedule and model inputs with engineering, fabrication, and field teams.
  • Translate digital schedules and models into executable field plans.
  • Support project managers and superintendents with planning, reporting, and coordination.

Education and Experience

  • BS or Associate Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related technical field and (2) or more years of multidisciplinary construction and project controls experience.

OR

  • Minimum (5) years of construction experience in industrial environments such as pulp & paper, chemical, power, or heavy manufacturing, with background in scheduling and project controls.

Required Skills

  • Demonstrated, hands-on experience with Primavera P6.
  • Working knowledge of Navisworks for construction sequencing and coordination.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD for construction support drawings.
  • Experience with 3D Lift Plan or equivalent crane/lift planning software.
  • Experience supporting heavy industrial civil, mechanical, or electrical construction projects.

Desired Skills or Knowledge

  • Familiarity with heavy lift planning, crane operations, and rigging.
  • Experience integrating schedules with 4D models.
  • Field experience or strong exposure to site execution.
  • Ability to interpret structural, mechanical, civil, and electrical drawings.

Work Environment

  • The person who fills this role will work in the Graywolf office in Alpharetta, GA, but may be required periodically to visit construction sites to meet with Graywolf project teams.
