Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager / Estimator to support electrical construction projects from bid through completion. This role is responsible for preparing accurate estimates, developing competitive proposals, managing project schedules and budgets, and ensuring successful project execution. The ideal candidate will have strong construction knowledge, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
  • Review project drawings, specifications, addenda, and other contract documents to fully understand project scope, requirements, and risks.
  • Perform detailed quantity takeoffs and develop accurate cost estimates for labor, materials, equipment, subcontractors, and other project-related expenses.
  • Prepare competitive bids and proposals for electrical construction projects while identifying scope gaps, exclusions, qualifications, alternates, value-engineering opportunities, and potential project risks.
  • Solicit, evaluate, and compare vendor and subcontractor quotations to ensure complete, accurate, and competitive pricing.
  • Support bid reviews by organizing estimate details, documenting assumptions, and providing cost analysis and recommendations to management.
  • Manage multiple small to medium-sized electrical construction projects, or assist with larger, more complex projects under the direction of senior leadership.
  • Support project planning, execution, and closeout activities while monitoring project scope, schedule, budget, quality, and client satisfaction.
  • Coordinate with clients, subcontractors, vendors, field personnel, and internal teams to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Track project costs, change orders, procurement activities, and project documentation to maintain financial and operational control.
  • Maintain organized estimating and project management records, including historical pricing data, bid documentation, contracts, and project files.
  • Develop strong client and stakeholder relationships while delivering high-quality service and supporting company growth objectives.
  • Assist in identifying and implementing process improvements that enhance project performance, efficiency, and profitability.
Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, quality surveying or related field
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in project management, preferably construction industry
  • Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and processes.
  • Excellent analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting construction drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Electrical field experience or prior work with an electrical contractor.
  • Experience estimating commercial, industrial, high voltage, or service-related electrical projects.
  • Knowledge of electrical codes, labor units, material pricing, and construction sequencing.
  • Experience supporting bid analysis, value engineering, or project handoff processes.
