Overview

William Charles Electric, a MasTec Company, is currently hiring for a Construction Manager to oversee our assigned renewables and power delivery projects.

The Construction Manager will lead the planning, execution, and successful delivery of electrical construction projects. The Construction Manager is responsible for overseeing all phases of project operations, ensuring work is completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This role serves as the primary liaison between project teams, clients, subcontractors, and company leadership while driving operational excellence and fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and teamwork.

Travel & Project Assignment: You can live in any city or state in the continental United States. This is a traveling position encompassing work sites primarily in the Midwest, but may include Eastern and Western states. Must be capable of up to 75% travel (e.g. 3 weeks per month) by automobile (as driver and passenger), commercial airlines, rental vehicles and public transportation and be able to lodge in public facilities. Travel will be necessary to conduct the duties of this job, and the employee must have the ability to drive and have proper licensing. A Corporate credit card for travel expenses will be issued to you. Travel for this position will be expensed thru the company expense system. You will be responsible for maintaining expense records and receipts, and completing the monthly the monthly transactions in Concur.

Responsibilities
  • Safety planning for all field operations and activities within the assigned project’s scope of work
  • Understand the applicable trades agreements and coordinate with the Local Bargaining Units
  • Personnel management, including setting production goals, safety goals and quality goals, craft call outs from locals, work assignments, weekly time management, manage craft ratios in accordance with the project agreement and Collective Bargaining Agreement
  • Identify resources needed, including personnel, material and equipment to perform the scope of work
  • Manage and update the work schedule to include, manpower, equipment, materials (including, but not limited to Cable Management Plans)
  • Contribute to monthly cost to complete reviews for assigned project and advise the Project Manager
  • Weekly quantities completed and accurately reported
  • Coordinate all equipment assignments and logistics
  • Review progress and performance weekly with the Project Manager

Qualifications
  • 5+ years of construction management experience, preferably within electrical, utility, power delivery, renewable energy, or heavy civil construction industries.
  • A combination of education and experience will be considered. May include Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, scheduling, estimating, budgeting, and contract administration.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience managing multiple projects and teams simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to travel to project sites as required
  • Valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record
  • OSHA 30 Hour
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States now and in the future without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g. H-1B visa status)

  • Take reasonable care of your own and others’ health and safety and of those who may be affected by the day-to-day delivery of this role by taking personal responsibility for working toward the Company’s Zero Injury principles
