Job description

GFT is seeking a Construction Manager to join our Construction Services team in the Seattle area!

We oversee every construction phase to help ensure projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and to the highest safety and quality standards.
What you'll be challenged to do:
With little or no supervision, acts as Owner Agent to provide construction management and inspection services for a wide variety of projects that may include, transportation and transit facilities. Performs assignments that may not be clearly defined and requires the development of construction documents, procedures, and criteria. Performs oversight of multiple projects simultaneously.
In this capacity, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
  • Conducts and documents project meetings with clients.
  • Manages construction field personnel, including teaming partners.
  • Negotiates and approves construction change orders.
  • Responds to Requests for Information (RFIs)
  • Prepares proposals and presentations.
  • Prepares and monitors project schedules and budgets.
  • Prepares and issues reports and correspondence.
  • Approves quantities for measurement and payment purposes.
  • Approves construction payment applications.
  • Resolves technical issues.
  • Performs constructability reviews and value engineering studies.
  • Leads Risk Management assessments.
  • Prepares and monitors Quality Control and Assurance Plans.
  • Develops Standard Operating Procedures.

What you will bring to our firm:
  • Bachelor's in Civil Engineering required.
  • PE licensed in the State of Washington.
  • Experience as a Resident Engineer on transit and rail and highways.
  • 10+ years' experience.

What we prefer you bring:
  • CCM preferred
  • Experience with Primavera P6 preferred.
  • 10-hour OSHA Safety course preferred.
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Must possess a driver's license to fulfill the essential functions of the position.

Compensation:
The salary range for this role is $160,000- $190,000. Salary is dependent upon experience and geographic location.
