Job description

Position Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Survey Technician to support the collection, processing, and analysis of topographic and construction-related survey data. The successful candidate will work closely with Survey Project Managers and multidisciplinary project teams to ensure the delivery of precise, reliable, and high-quality surveying services. This role is ideal for a motivated professional who values accuracy, efficiency, and technical excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform post-processing and detailed analysis of survey data using industry-standard software and methodologies.
  • Prepare comprehensive stakeout sketches, point files, and DXF files for a wide range of construction layout needs.
  • Produce accurate, well-organized, and professional As-Built drawings that meet project specifications and industry standards.
  • Conduct precise earthwork and volume calculations as required.
  • Develop clear and accurate cut sheets and field sketches to support various field activities.
  • Collaborate effectively with Survey Project Managers, engineers, and field personnel to ensure project objectives, schedules, and quality expectations are met.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Autodesk Civil 3D, including:
  • Strong understanding of survey points, point groups, CSV workflows, and coordinate systems
  • Ability to calculate pipe slopes and other design-related relationships
  • Competence in organizing and managing DWG files using Xrefs, dynamic blocks, layers, and standardized color systems
  • Proficiency with common office and productivity tools, including Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, Dropbox, and Microsoft Teams
  • Experience with Agtek Earthwork 3D for surface creation, earthwork calculations, and material takeoffs is preferred but not required
  • Ability to read, interpret, and work from civil, structural, and architectural plans and specifications
  • Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
  • Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while also contributing effectively to a team environment
