Position Overview
We are seeking a Field Engineer – Construction Layout to support our HVAC and plumbing construction projects in the field. This is a hands-on, field-based role focused on performing precise layout work and ensuring installations align with project plans and specifications.

This position plays a key role in bridging field operations and project teams, helping drive accuracy, efficiency, and quality across our mechanical construction projects.


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform construction layout using Trimble/total station equipment for HVAC and plumbing systems

  • Interpret construction drawings, BIM models, and shop drawings

  • Verify field installations align with design plans and resolve layout discrepancies

  • Coordinate with Superintendents, Foremen, and Project Managers to support field execution

  • Assist with as-built documentation and field measurements

  • Identify and communicate design conflicts or field issues in real time

  • Support layout for sleeves, embeds, underground systems, and equipment placement

  • Ensure accuracy and compliance with project specifications and safety standards


Qualifications

  • Experience in construction layout, surveying, or mechanical field work (HVAC/plumbing)

  • Hands-on experience with Trimble, total station, or similar layout tools preferred

  • Ability to read and interpret construction and mechanical drawings

  • Familiarity with BIM/VDC tools (AutoCAD, Revit) is a plus

  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, field environment
