Construction Layout Foreman – Public Works Projects – Lead Government and Public Works Projects for JERGENSEN CONSTRUCTION INC

The Opportunity

You will serve as a critical field leader driving precision for vital public works and infrastructure projects. This role grants you the autonomy to manage multi-trade layouts while collaborating directly with project superintendents and owners. You will make a lasting impact by ensuring structural accuracy on projects where your individual contribution is truly valued.


How You Will Make an Impact

  • Study project plans and collaborate closely with our internal CAD modeling professional.
  • Establish precise field control points for concrete forms, masonry footings, framing, and fencing.
  • Operate total station equipment to execute accurate layouts for plumbing, electrical, and anchor bolts.
  • Double-check all field layouts and verify that form setters read stakes correctly.
  • Inspect site conditions against blueprints to proactively identify and resolve layout conflicts.
  • Audit on-site grade percentages to guarantee strict compliance with ADA standards.
  • Coordinate daily with project superintendents and owners to maintain project momentum.


Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum of 10 years of layout experience, ideally within civil or public works construction.
  • Bi Lingual Spanish Required
  • Proven proficiency operating conventional or robotic total station equipment in the field.
  • Demonstrated experience laying out concrete forms, masonry footings, and structural framing.
  • Strong ability to read, interpret, and cross-reference complex civil and architectural plans.


Preferred Qualifications & Experience

  • Experience executing layout tasks for public school infrastructure or federal facilities.
  • Advanced proficiency in BIM-to-field workflows or collaborating directly with CAD technicians.
  • Demonstrated experience mentoring junior layout crew members or apprentices.
