Construction Field Technician

Location: Asheville, North Carolina Area
Pay Range: $23.00 โ€“ $25.00 per hour, based on experience and skillset
Position Type: Full-Time, Non-Exempt

Position Summary

Timberline Construction Group (TCG) is seeking a Construction Field Technician to support disaster recovery and housing reconstruction projects in the Asheville, North Carolina region.

This position plays an important role in field operations by assisting with subcontractor oversight, completing QA/QC inspection reports, and submitting photo documentation of completed work. Projects may include mobile home installation, residential reconstruction, and other disaster recovery-related construction work.

This role is ideal for someone with construction field experience who enjoys working onsite, communicating with contractors, documenting progress, and helping solve problems in the field.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor subcontractor work to ensure it meets project scope, schedule, safety, and quality standards

  • Complete QA/QC inspection reports and submit required photo documentation

  • Provide daily field updates and progress reports to the Construction Manager

  • Attend municipal inspections as needed

  • Maintain daily logs, photos, and project updates using field reporting applications

  • Identify and report construction, quality, or safety concerns

  • Assist with implementing field solutions to keep projects moving forward

  • Ensure active construction tasks align with TCG's expectations for safety, quality, and accountability

Qualifications
  • Experience in MHU installation, residential construction, disaster recovery, or general construction preferred

  • Prior field operations experience preferred

  • Basic technology skills, including Microsoft Office programs and mobile reporting applications

  • Strong communication, organization, and follow-through skills

  • Ability to work in outdoor field environments

  • Ability to travel locally to project sites within the assigned region

  • Must demonstrate accountability, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to work
