Job description

Epic Personnel Partners is seeking an experienced Logistics Manager to oversee transportation operations, ensure compliance, and manage workflow at our Ruther Glen, VA location. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring strong organizational skills, communication, and the ability to troubleshoot logistics challenges in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide operational guidance and ensure compliance with regulations and company policies.
  • Manage dispatch agents, carrier selection, and customer communications.
  • Build relationships with carriers and negotiate shipping rates.
  • Oversee documentation, shipment tracking, and carrier performance.
  • Train and evaluate employees, fostering a positive work environment.
  • Handle emergency situations and be on-call 24/7 as needed.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of transportation/logistics experience (3PL/Brokerage preferred).
  • 2+ years in a managerial, supervisory, or lead role.
  • Strong leadership, conflict resolution, and time-management skills.
  • Proficiency in TMS software (TruckMate, PC Miler, Fleetmatics, RoadNet a plus).
  • Knowledge of DOT regulations, vehicle weight capacity, and load specs.
  • Bilingual skills are a plus!

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift 30 lbs and traverse a warehouse environment.
  • Work in varying temperature conditions in a distribution setting.
