Job Summary:


The Configuration Technician is responsible for setting up, imaging, configuring, and preparing laptop, desktop, and server systems for deployment. This role ensures all hardware and software configurations meet company standards, client specifications, and security requirements. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, technically skilled, and capable of working in a fast-paced production or IT environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Configure, image, and deploy laptops, desktops, and server systems in accordance with organizational standards
  • Install and configure operating systems (Windows, Linux, or others as required)
  • Load and verify software applications, patches, and updates
  • Perform system imaging using tools such as SCCM, MDT, or similar deployment platforms
  • Conduct hardware and software diagnostics to ensure proper functionality prior to deployment
  • Maintain accurate records of configurations, asset tags, and system details
  • Troubleshoot configuration and imaging issues and escalate when necessary
  • Follow detailed work instructions, standard operating procedures, and quality guidelines
  • Ensure compliance with cybersecurity and data protection policies
  • Assist with inventory management, including receiving, staging, and tracking IT equipment
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance imaging and configuration efficiency
