Job description

Position Title: AV Installation & Configuration Technician (Short-Term Contract)

Location: COMPACFLT HQ (onsite)

Engagement Type: 1099 (contract)

As a member of GC Associates USA LLC Team, the AV Installation & Configuration Technician will support a short-term project in a secure Department of Defense (DoD) environment. This role requires hands-on installation of audiovisual (AV) equipment along with configuration and programming support to bring newly installed systems online.

The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented AV professional who is comfortable working onsite, can adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment, and can support both physical installation and system turn-up activities.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform hands-on installation of AV components, including rack installation, cable management, endpoint setup, and basic troubleshooting
  • Assist with the configuration and setup of newly installed AV equipment
  • Support Crestron NVX Manager for device installation, configuration, and validation of AV streams
  • Modify and update existing Crestron control system logic and user interfaces as required
  • Conduct functional system checks and assist with validation during system turn-up
  • Troubleshoot issues during cutover and provide quick resolution support
  • Document system updates, changes, and configuration adjustments
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure successful system integration and project completion

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Hands-on experience with AV installation (rack build, wiring, cable management, endpoint setup)
  • Experience working with Crestron AV systems
  • Familiarity with Crestron NVX or AV-over-IP systems, including configuration and validation
  • Experience modifying or supporting control system programming (Crestron preferred)
  • Ability to perform troubleshooting and functional testing in a live environment
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work efficiently within a short project timeline

Preferred:

Candidates with direct experience in Crestron NVX deployments and control system programming are strongly preferred.

Qualifications:

  • Prior experience supporting AV installation and configuration in commercial, enterprise, or government environments
  • Experience with system commissioning, testing, and cutover support
  • Ability to read AV diagrams, schematics, and installation drawings
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative environment
