 Adecco is assisting a client recruiting for a Configuration Engineer in Charlotte, NC. Responsibilities for the Configuration Engineer role include but are not limited to: 

  • Analyze, develop and modify programs in all aspects of SAP ABAP development including –enhancements, conversions, User Exits, ALV reports , LSMW, RFC’s, ALE/EDI, IDOCs, BAPI’s and BADI’s.
    Develop and modify SAP script, Smart Forms.

  • Debug system issues and resolve.

  • Understand EDI messages 850,855,846,856,810 and work with outsourced middleware team to map with SAP Idoc structures.

  • Initiate communication with vendors and new trading partners to obtain and provide necessary information for EDI data exchanges.

  • Troubleshoot and supply expedient responses and resolution to EDI errors and requests from trading partners for missing or invalid data, enhancement to the current mapping.

  • Support inbound and outbound IDOC programs, use monitoring tools, troubleshoot and correct errors.

  • Be a first responder to assist with SAP & EDI tickets working in conjunction with the SAP Lead.

  • Provide guidance and actively engage with the business and build strong partnerships in support of the business and IT strategic plan.

Candidates for this Configuration Engineer role must meet the following requirements to be considered:

  • Strong knowledge of SAP ABAP development technologies and hands on in core modules – SD & MM.

  • Previous experience in onboarding EDI customers by mapping EDI messages to SAP IDOC structures.
    In-depth knowledge in interfacing EDI transactions with SAP.

  • Good understanding of SAP sales order to cash process.

  • Proven experience through at least 1 full cycle implementation of SAP ECC.

  • Experience in writing SQL queries is a plus. Not mandatory.

  • Excellent interpersonal, presentation and communication skills with the ability to work effectively with all organizational levels.

  • 4-year college degree or equivalent combination of education/work experience.

  • Must have 5+ years’ experience as an SAP ABAP developer in SAP ECC 6.0 or higher versions.
