Job description

Northrop Grumman Corporation has an exciting opportunity for a Configuration Analyst or Principal Configuration Analyst to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Promontory, Utah.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Participates in the coordination and administration of assigned configuration management activities related to identification, control, and accounting for systems, products and/or equipment in accordance with contractual requirements including:
  • Following specific set of documentation rules and guidelines to ensure technical content meets internal and external customer requirements
  • Researching and verifying technical content as needed
  • Evaluating technical content for cohesiveness and completeness
  • Coordinating changes to product design documents with engineering, quality manufacturing, and other support organizations. Ensures that customer requirements are implemented and ensures compliance with configuration management policies
  • Performing engineering data control activities which may include administration of government/industry documents (change notice, impact assessment, and where-used creation) and creation/release of parts
  • Participates in modifying and enhancing standard work associated with activities and responsibilities described above

Configuration Analyst 2 Basic Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree or a year of experience with a Master's degree, OR High School Diploma or equivalent and 6 years of related professional / military experience in lieu of a 4-year degree
  • Working knowledge and understanding of engineering documentation (i.e. drawings, specifications, parts lists, change notices, manufacturing plans, test or laboratory procedures)
  • Knowledge or demonstrated experience using one of the following: PLM, CAD, or MRP software
  • Knowledge of how business processes work together to ensure interfaces with other business processes are efficient
  • Be an effective communicator skilled at collaborating with others to get work done and manage conflicting priorities
  • Ability to obtain and maintain DoD Secret Clearance
  • Solid skill level in Microsoft Office products

Preferred Requirements:
  • B.S. or M.S. degree in a STEM area or Scientific Writing
  • CMII certification preferred
  • Demonstrated experience using PLM, CAD, and MRP software
  • Knowledge of agile or scrum methodologies
  • Development capability within the Microsoft Office suite (i.e. development of templates and macros)

Principal Configuration Analyst 3 Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree OR 3 years of experience with a Master's degree, OR 1 year of experience with a PhD, OR High School Diploma or equivalent and 9 years of related professional / military experience in lieu of a 4-year degree.
  • Working knowledge and understanding of engineering documentation (i.e. drawings, specifications, parts lists, change notices, manufacturing plans, test or laboratory procedures)
  • Knowledge or demonstrated experience using one of the following: PLM, CAD, or MRP software
