The primary responsibilities of a concert photographer are to provide quality photographs from concert events. In this career, your images are licensed and used for advertising of the venue, band albums, to promote tours, t-shirt designs, articles, interviews, and more. Your duties require photo passes so you can get up close shots of the band and crowd with an individual focus on the lead singer and other musicians. You may sell individual photographs to publications or get paid to cover the event. Concert photographers also spend a lot of time networking and ensuring they have updated camera technology.

mxdwn is looking for a concert reviewer to join the New York live team. Our site is an established online entertainment magazine that focuses on news, original reviews, features, photography and interviews. We are a leader and innovator in providing dynamic entertainment content. An essential part of what makes the magazine tick is live coverage of musical performances.
As a live photographer you will be able to attend some of the most promising live music shows passing through New York, all while building your portfolio. We are only looking for candidates with the availability and willingness to cover 3-4 shows minimum per month. Please note this position is unpaid.
You must be local to the New York area for this position, able to provide your own transportation.
