Job Summary:
Comtech Telecommunications Corp. is a leading global technology company providing innovative solutions in emergency services and communications technologies. The Sales Engineer will act as a technical lead in sales engagements, focusing on delivering technical demonstrations and supporting revenue growth for Allerium's Agency Solutions, specifically in Call Handling Equipment.
Responsibilities:
โ€ข Collaborate with sales teams to conduct technical discovery, deliver tailored product demonstrations of Call Handling Equipment and related agency solutions.
โ€ข Participate in the development and writing of RFP/RFI responses, ensuring compliance with public safety standards, NENA i3, cybersecurity, and interoperability needs.
โ€ข Represent Allerium at industry trade shows, conferences, and events, showcasing solutions and networking with potential customers.
โ€ข Accompany sales representatives on frequent customer visits (up to 50% travel).
โ€ข Serve as the technical liaison between customers and internal teams including product management, engineering, and implementation services.
โ€ข Develop and maintain technical sales collateral, including presentations, demo scripts, white papers, and competitive analysis documents.
โ€ข Support post-sales activities as needed, including technical handoffs to implementation teams and customer onboarding assistance.
Qualifications:
Required:
โ€ข Strong knowledge of NG9-1-1 technologies, including Call Handling Equipment (CHE), NENA i3 standards, geospatial routing, and public safety ecosystems.
โ€ข Proficiency in IP networking, cybersecurity principles, cloud and on-premises deployments, and public safety software integrations.
โ€ข Deep understanding of PSAP operations, emergency call flow, and the challenges facing 911 telecommunicators and public safety administrators.
โ€ข Excellent presentation, written communication, and relationship-building skills for engaging both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
โ€ข Demonstrated ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, compelling value propositions for diverse audiences.
โ€ข Self-motivated with ability to work independently in a remote environment while maintaining strong collaboration with distributed teams.
โ€ข 3-7 years in pre-sales, solutions engineering, or sales engineering roles, preferably in public safety software, NG9-1-1, emergency communications, or related mission-critical technology sectors.
โ€ข Proven track record in developing and delivering RFP/RFI responses, technical demonstrations, and trade show representation in software or SaaS sales environments.
โ€ข Hands-on experience with PSAP operations, emergency call handling systems, or selling to government and public safety entities strongly preferred.
โ€ข Experience working with state and local government procurement processes and understanding of public sector sales cycles.
โ€ข Demonstrated success in supporting sales teams to achieve revenue targets and close complex, multi-stakeholder deals.
โ€ข Bachelorโ€™s degree in computer science, Engineering, Information Technology, Telecommunications, or related field.
โ€ข Equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience will be considered.
Preferred:
โ€ข Hands-on experience with PSAP operations, emergency call handling systems, or selling to government and public safety entities strongly preferred.
โ€ข Experience working with state and local government procurement processes and understanding of public sector sales cycles.
