Description
Abilities Network is looking for a Family Support Specialist to support our Healthy Families team. Healthy Families is a national program that works with new parents to develop supporting, enriching parenting practices that help their children and families grow to realize their fullest potential. The Family Support Specialist works directly with families to provide in-home and virtual family-centered, strength based services designed to strengthen parent-child relationships, enhance parenting skills and improve family functioning.
The starting rate of pay for this position is $18.00 per hour and is non-negotiable. This is a Bilingual (Spanish/English) position and offers an additional bilingual pay differential for employees who meet proficiency requirements.

Requirements
What will I do at Abilities Network?
โ€ข Facilitate program enrollment, including assessments to evaluate family history of past and present trauma and areas that are under-resourced
โ€ข Provide family-centered, strength-based interventions directed at establishing a trusting relationship in order to optimize parent child relationships
โ€ข Connect families to community resources through referrals and education
โ€ข Utilize a research-based curriculum to facilitate age appropriate interaction between parent and child
โ€ข Guide families through the steps of setting and working towards goals
โ€ข Plan and participate in Healthy Families special events
What does Abilities Network need from me?
โ€ข Bachelor's degree required in Family and Children's Services or related field. Three years home visitation or experience working with families accepted in lieu of Bachelor's Degree.
โ€ข Experience with family services that embrace the concept of family centered principle and strength based service provision.
โ€ข Bilingual in Spanish and English required.
โ€ข Experience in serving culturally diverse communities/families is required.
โ€ข Transportation necessary to fulfill the duties and responsibilities of the position.
