Job Summary:
The North Carolina Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services is seeking an IT Support Specialist to provide information technology support to users, computer systems, networks, and software applications. The role involves ensuring reliable IT operations across the court unit while delivering exceptional user support.
Responsibilities:
• Provide help desk and technical support for IT equipment, systems, and users.
• Monitor and maintain day-to-day IT operations, ensuring system reliability.
• Install, configure, and troubleshoot hardware and software.
• Support Microsoft 365 applications, including Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive and OneNote
• Support mobile devices (phones, tablets, laptops) and Apple operating systems (iOS/macOS).
• Maintain and support courtroom audio-visual equipment and evidence presentation systems.
• Collaborate with IT staff across divisions to standardize systems and practices.
• Maintain documentation for user guides, systems, and applications.
• Manage IT inventory lifecycle, including logistics, receiving, tracking, data entry, and deployment.
• Assist in IT project implementation, integration, and system improvements.
• Build awareness of judiciary security standards and policies, and comply with standards of system security, data integrity, and confidentiality.
• Translating business needs into technical solutions

Qualifications:
Required:
• Minimum of four (4) years of progressively responsible IT experience.
• Experience with IT systems, data processing, and communications.
• Experience supporting hardware/software in a user-based environment.
• Knowledge of IT systems, hardware, software, and data communications.
• Ability to analyze and resolve complex technical problems.
• Strong interpersonal communication and customer service skills, both in writing and in person.
• Ability to work well within a team or individually, prioritize tasks, and make technical conclusions through methodical evaluation.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Learn court policies, procedures, and abide by confidentiality requirements.
• Strong organizational skills and interpersonal skills with attention to detail and follow-through on responsibilities.
• Explicit troubleshooting methodology expectation for technical problem solving and research.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and use sound judgment.
• Professional attire, demeanor, and strong work ethic.
Preferred:
• Understanding of LAN/WAN networking and cybersecurity principles.
