Although this is a hybrid position, candidates must live within driving distance to our Sterling Heights, Michigan office as the position requires on site client visits.

The Systems Engineer is responsible for analysis, design and support of all physical infrastructure equipment and software related to the clients' network and server/storage environments. The successful candidate will possess a strong client focus with the ability to communicate technical concepts with clients across all knowledge levels in a positive, clear, and concise manner.
Job Details:
Responsibilities:
  • Designs system configuration, determines hardware, software and functional specifications, and performs system installations.
  • Provides advanced technical support, troubleshooting and maintenance.
  • Troubleshoots malfunctions of client's network hardware and software applications, resolves operational issues and documents network problems and resolutions
  • Makes recommendations to clients regarding systems or procedural improvements
  • Reviews engineering deliverables and initiates appropriate corrective actions
  • Collaborates with Sales to provide strategic direction to our clients

Requirements
Education and Experience:
Experience preferred but not all necessary.
  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in Computer Science, or Information Systems (or related degree/equivalent combination of work experience).
  • Professional IT certifications.
  • 7+ years of administrative support experience.
  • Troubleshooting and resolving technical issues involving server applications such as Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, IIS, group policies, etc.
  • Troubleshooting and resolving technical issues involving Microsoft's core business applications (Exchange, SQL, etc.) and operating systems (servers and desktops) as well as line of business applications.
  • Knowledge of remote access solutions including VPN, Terminal Services, and Citrix.
  • Experience with MS Azure, EntraID, M365, and O365.
  • Experience with SharePoint and Teams.
  • Advanced technical support and the ability to troubleshoot at the network level: WAN and LAN connectivity, Layer 2/3 switching, routers, firewalls, and security.
  • Advanced understanding of operating systems, business applications, printing systems, and network systems.
  • Experience with VMware up to version 8.0
