Summary/Objective

The system administrator provides support to critical systems to ensure computer systems are stable and available when needed. The position is responsible for maintaining current systems, updating baselines with new tools and capabilities, security patching, hardware and software installs, and monitoring.

Essential Functions

  • Experience with Windows and Linux environments.
  • Demonstrated on the job experience with software and hardware updates/installs, backup and restore practices, and O&M.
  • Experience designing and implementing security on computer systems.
  • Demonstrated on-the-job experience developing Linux/Windows system scripts.

Competencies

  • Knowledge of servers and server automation.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills.
  • Customer/Client Focused.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and network equipment.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Regular, predictable on-site attendance is a requirement for this job.

Travel

Travel might be required for meetings and is local during the business day.

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelors in Information Systems, Computer Science, or other technical degree.
  • Five years of on-the-job experience as a Systems Administrator.

Preferred Education & Experience

  • Knowledge of Amazon Web Services (AWS) or AWS certification.
  • Experience writing automation scripts.
  • Computer networking.
  • Agile Methodologies.

Work Authorization/Security Clearance (if applicable)

TS/SCI with poly.
