Summary of Position:

Provide technical support and assistance in the implementation of projects, process changes, and process improvements in manufacturing. Assist the Manufacturing Engineer to create, document, develop and implement manufacturing processes. Participate in continuous improvement events. Investigate and execute real time problem resolutions. Support operations with troubleshooting, manufacturing, and documentation.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

Provides the Manufacturing Engineering department with support resources to maintain and document existing processes, programs, tooling, and standards to satisfy production requirements

  • Provide technical expertise or support related to manufacturing.
  • Incorporate new methods and processes to improve existing operations.
  • Assist in troubleshooting new and existing product problems involving designs, materials, or processes.
  • Creates drawings to support in-house machining, assembly and test processes.
  • Updates drawings, machine programs and operator work instructions.
  • Prepare documentation for new manufacturing processes or engineering procedures.
  • Supports and implements continuous improvement methods such as lean manufacturing to enhance manufacturing quality, reliability, or cost-effectiveness.
  • Supports and assists the Manufacturing Engineers and supervisors with projects as assigned.
  • Under the direction of the Manufacturing Engineer, sets up and operates machines on trial run to verify accuracy of machine settings and programming.
  • Supports the Engineer in performing optimization of CNC programs to minimize cycle times and maximize tool life.
  • Assist engineers with developing and detailing fixture design and implementation.
  • Read current literature, talk with colleagues, participate in educational programs, attend meetings, attend workshops, or participate in professional organizations or conferences to keep abreast of developments in the field.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts, such as geometric and trig functions. Apply mathematical equations to practical situations.
  • Successfully execute a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Demonstrates excellence in completion of all other duties as assigned.- Education Requirements/Certifications:
  • High School diploma required
- 2-year Associate’s degree preferred
  • Experience/Skill Requirements:

  • 2 years experience in a manufacturing environment required. Education in lieu of experience

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints including geometric dimensioning and tolerancing. required

  • Ability to accurately measure and read calipers, micrometers, dial bore gauges, etc. required

  • Microsoft Office software experience required

  • Assembly, Test, CNC Machining and Programming experience preferred

  • Experience with modeling, drafting, and/or CNC programming software preferred.

Physical Requirements

  • Stand/ walk for long period of time, both indoor and outdoor.
  • Working environment temperatures vary substantially.
  • Must be able to stand on feet for up to 8 hours.
  • Regular use of wrists, hands and/or fingers.
  • Close visual acuity to create/read schematics, drawings and/or a computer screen.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high
