Join our team as a 3DP Manufacturing Lab Technician!
 

The Lab Technician ensures machines are prepared for production and removal of builds, management of materials, and overall cleanliness of the machines and the machine lab, while maintaining a safe and efficient environment.

Shift: Tuesday - Saturday, 7am - 330pm

What you will do
  • Ensure machines are set up accurately for builds to begin and complete as scheduled, including turning over machines in accordance with established procedures.
  • Remove builds from machines and prepare them for Remove builds from machines and prepare them for the breakout stage.
  • Complete breakouts for completed builds.
  • Maintain machine cleanliness and conduct light maintenance tasks.
  • Complete raw material handling processes as needed to ensure raw materials inventories are at the correct level after each run of production equipment.
  • Assist in material management, which may include: material blending according to established recipes, perform powder sieve processes, or performing vat stirs.
  • Collaborate and communicate with pre- and post- build teams on build timelines and when issues arise.
  • Work closely with the Maintenance team to prevent machine issues and reporting problems immediately.
  • Assist in the removal and disposal of contaminated materials according to established procedures.
  • Assist in troubleshooting build crashes, remove crashed builds, and prepare machines for rebuilds.
  • Complete assignments given by the Lead, Supervisor, or Production Manager.
  • Continually seek ways to improve work processes and individual performance.
  • Follow processes to maintain appropriate inventory and supply levels.
  • Follow and complete all applicable checklists.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area and individual workspace and assist in general cleanliness and maintenance of the facility.
  • Observe and follow all Protolabs Safety and Quality policies and procedures, including use of any required PPE (safety glasses, gloves, steel-toed footwear, etc.) and safety/compliance training.
  • Maintain collaborative and respectful working relationships.

$20 - $24 an hour

Work Environment:
Indoors (A/C); nonsmoking; the majority of this job function is performed in a manufacturing area exposed to machinery and noise; with eye protection and safety shoes required. Occasionally works in outside weather conditions. Occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and in high, precarious places and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock and vibration.
