Job description

Position Summary
The Lab Technician will support the bioanalytical laboratory by performing routine sample preparation, assisting with day-to-day laboratory operations, and helping maintain a safe, organized, and compliant lab environment. The role is hands-on and execution-focused, supporting analysts and scientists to ensure timely and high-quality analytical work.
Essential Functions
Sample Preparation and Laboratory Support:
  • Perform routine sample preparation activities in support of bioanalytical assays
  • Assist with preparation on buffers, reagents, and solutions following established procedures
  • Support analytical runs by staging samples, consumables, and materials
  • Accurately label, track and document samples in accordance with laboratory procedures

Daily Laboratory Operations
  • Assist with daily lab operations including maintaining clean and organized workspaces
  • Stock consumables and supplies and support waste handling and disposal per SOPs
  • Support routine equipment checks and basic maintenance activities
  • Help ensure laboratory readiness for scheduled analytical work

Documentation and Compliance
  • Follow established SOPs, work instructions, and safety procedures
  • Complete required documentation accurately and contemporaneously
  • Support compliance with regulated bioanalytical environments, as applicable
  • Escalate issues, deviations, or equipment concerns to appropriate staff

Team and Cross-Functional Support
  • Work closely with bioanalytical scientists and analysts to support workflow execution
  • Communicate clearly regarding task status, sample readiness, and issues
  • Support a collaborative, efficient laboratory environment

Education and Experience

  • Reasoning Ability: Apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Computer Skills: Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Publisher, Outlook, Internet Explorer) No additional computer skills required.
