Position: 2015-13551 - IT Engineering - Computer Hardware Engineer
Location: Washington DC
Salary: $126,000 per year- $137,000.00 per year
Position Description:
The Sponsor is seeking a Computer Hardware Engineer to manage all Sponsor mission application hosting-related hardware devices to include:
Logistics management
Device shipment, receipt, invoice validation, staging, preparation
Datacenter installations (racking, cabling, powering) and moves by external service providers
Vendor repairs, device configuration, proper operation validation, rack elevation documentation maintenance, datacenter floor mapping and documentation maintenance, datacenter floor space planning, datacenter power and cooling capacity management
Troubleshooting, repairing, maintaining and monitoring, and firmware updates and patching according to all relevant and/or required policies, directives, and standards
Mandatory Skills:
1. Demonstrated on-the-job experience installing, configuring, managing, and upgrading datacenter hardware to include device cables and connectors, various hardware (Network, Storage, Compute) power devices and cooling configuration devices
2. Demonstrated on-the-job experience installing, configuring, managing, and upgrading the following hardware technologies: Cisco UCS B-Series, Cisco C-Series rack servers HP Blade System, HP Proliant Rack Servers and IBM Blade Center
3. Demonstrated on-the-job experience installing, configuring, managing, and upgrading the following storage hardware technologies: NetApp devices and Hitachi devices
4. Demonstrated on-the-job experience installing, configuring, managing, and upgrading Cisco network devices
