Job description

QED Systems, LLC, is currently recruiting a Hardware Engineer, Senior to join our team at Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD. This position is contingent upon award.

Duties:

  • Research, design, develop, run tests, and evaluate computer hardware such as computer chips, circuit boards, computer systems, keyboards, modems, printers, and other related equipment.
  • Collaborate with software engineers and other scientists in design and testing of computer hardware, circuits, and related components.
  • Provide hardware engineering expertise for the research, design, development, and testing of computer hardware and associated electronic components.
  • Provide expert technical support for the diagnosis, troubleshooting, and resolution of complex hardware, firmware, and system integration challenges in both laboratory and field environments.
  • Evaluate hardware performance and system designs, providing technical recommendations for hardware obsolescence management, technology insertion, and system upgrades to enhance capability and sustainability.
  • Support the configuration management of hardware components, document system configurations and managing engineering changes throughout the hardware lifecycle.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Detail-oriented with excellent technical, verbal, and written communication skills.

Required Clearance:

  • ACTIVE CLEARANCE LEVEL REQUIRED: Top Secret w/SCI eligibility

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field required.
  • At least ten (10) years of related experience required.
  • Master's degree in related field may substitute five (5) years of experience.

Travel:

Less than 10% travel is expected for this position. Travel may include continental United States and outside continental United States locations.

Work Environment:

This position may be performed in a variety of locations, including but not limited to, commercial and/or government offices, test and integration labs, government facilities and depots, and test & evaluation and proving grounds.

Estimated Salary Range: $145,000.00 - $160,000.00, annually. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary. This represents the typical range for fully qualified candidates for this position based on experience, geographic location, and other factors. The final offer amount may vary.
