Job description

As a Hardware Engineer, you will be responsible for advanced research, new product development, and support for existing product manufacturing operations in the primary market segments including; satellite communication, satellite-based navigation systems, 4G and 5G systems, and advanced phased array and beamforming antenna systems.
The position is based in Germantown, MD.
YOUR WORK AT MAXTENA WILL INCLUDE:
  • Design of electronic and electromechanical circuits, schematics, PCB fabrication packages, and systems to support new product development and ongoing production
  • Prototype and evaluate electronic and electromechanical devices for new product development and ongoing production
  • Hardware prototype construction and testing
  • Interface with sales, customers, and other technical staff
  • Perform feasibility studies by leveraging simulation tools

REQUIREMENTS:
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain a Secret clearance
  • S. in Electrical Engineering, MSEE or PhD preferred
  • 5+ years of industry experience
  • Experience working with hardware/electrical equipment design, testing, or production
  • Knowledge of electronics engineering and the design and development of electronic hardware
  • Demonstrated experience working with PCB design tools such as Altium Designer
  • 7+ years of experience with multi-layer PCB layout, including prototyping, SMT, RF, mixed-signal design, high-speed digital design, and high-density layout
  • Demonstrated knowledge in signal integrity, RF microstrip impedance basics, and low EMI practices
  • Demonstrated experience with DFM
  • Demonstrated experience in working with teams
  • Exceptionally detail-oriented
  • Creative with exceptional problem-solving skills
