Job Description

- Maintain the highest of standards in the data center for consistency of installations, quality and appearance of cabling, labeling, documentation, asset management, ticket and process compliance, and meet client SLA's for up time.
- Installs, de-installs, modifies, and/or relocates hardware in the data centers consistent with job specifications and ensures schedules are met, maintaining data center standards.
- Configures, installs, repairs, and troubleshoots issues related to hardware performance on servers, san equipment, network equipment, tape equipment in a raised floor data center.
- Performs regular walk through of the data center noting problems and system errors, making incident tickets, perform repair or engages proper personnel for resolution.
- Maintain hardware related output queues (incident, service request, change)
- Basic and in depth troubleshooting of hardware related problems.
- Assist in maintaining CMDB and hardware inventory for site services
- Provide shipping and receiving support and assist other team members
- Vendor management at the site - escalations, escort, assistance in troubleshooting.
- Maintains documentation, inventory sheets, technical schematics and diagrams.
- Assists in the overall hardware planning at the site level
- Help develop detailed plan for hardware installation
- Assist engineering support with configuration of hardware
- Mentors and trains other hardware services associates
- Assist in the development/maintaining of best practices and procedures for the team
- Provides site services audit compliance support
- Provide on-call support for issues where we are not scheduled to work
- Assist Print/Magnetic Media department
- Other Duties as assigned

Qualifications

- Must be able to work a flexible work schedule
- Provide off hour on-call support
- 3 to 5 years of experience in hardware installation and troubleshooting in a Data Center environment
- Able to follow strict installation processes and procedures
- Ability to consistently lift, carry, push, pulls items as much as 50lbs
- Experience in a raised floor enterprise scale data center a must
- Experience in computer cabling, both fiber and copper.
- Experience in repair/replacement of computer components and hardware.
- CompTIA A+ certification or equivalent.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to gather data to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
- Position requires good interpersonal skills; the ability to interact effectively with clients, vendors, management, co-workers, etc., to promote a cooperate environment.
- Must be self-motivated, able to multi-task, comfortable working independently or under general direction only, with the ability to work within tight deadlines.
