We are looking for you to join our team as an Electronics Engineering Manager 1 based out of Linthicum, MD. The Power Hardware section in the E&S Baltimore and Partnered Sites (BaPS) organization is seeking a leader to manage a Power Engineering team in the Mission Systems sector. This team is responsible for architecting, designing (simulating), verifying (testing), and supporting existing and future Power Conversion Circuit Card Assemblies (CCA's) and Electronic Component Assemblies (ECA's) across a variety of platforms. Team skill sets include trading requirements, circuit topology and packaging trade studies and specification; Power, Voltage Drop, and Ripple budgeting via analysis, CCA and ECA design, electromagnetic simulation, data reduction and analysis, design verification, and production support. This position is dual role, encompassing both people and project/technical leadership. Roles and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Lead an engineering functional team of 10 to 12 engineers including performance management, career development, staffing, and merit planning

  • Provide project and technical oversight for activities performed by the team

  • Ensure application of design processes and guidelines used in the team

  • Develop proposal inputs and review proposal content for both internal and external customers

  • Collaborate with peer managers to ensure consistency across multiple work groups

  • Support department initiatives, recruiting, technology roadmap creation, cross-campus/sector involvement, and internally funded projects

  • Fostering employee engagement and knowledge sharing

The successful candidate should have demonstrated experience in multi-disciplinary hardware design and analysis, an understanding of design for manufacturing practices, production engineering, developing engineering processes and procedures, and an understanding of engineering's role in supporting small to medium production quantities.

The role is contingent upon candidates having a current Active Secret Clearance and the future ability to achieve SAP clearance.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree with 5 years of experience, master's degree with 3 years of experience, Ph.D. with 0 years of experience in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics or related technical fields.

  • Fundamental understanding of power electronics principles and applications

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills and ability to work within diverse teams

  • Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate teams as a functional manager, program manager, Integrated Product Team (IPT) lead, and/or other significant leadership role

  • U.S. Citizenship is required

  • Current Active DoD Secret Clearance is required.

  • Ability to obtain/maintain a Special Access Program (SAP) clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Power Electronics product design, fabrication, and integration experience including, but not limited to, products in high reliability military applications.

  • A current/active DoD Secret clearance or higher

  • 8 or more years of experience in a multi-disciplined engineering environment

  • Demonstrated success leading high performance teams as technical, integrated product team, and/or functional leader

Primary Level Salary Range: $127,000.00 - $190,600.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
