Job description

Ardurra is seeking an experienced CAD Technician to join our team in our Fort Walton Beach, FL or Panama City, FL offices!

The position will support our well established and respected Water Practice. Experience in civil engineering, water and wastewater, architecture, or facility design would be preferred. This is a great opportunity to support projects that make an impact in our communities.

Primary Function:

The CAD Technician will be responsible for performing drafting techniques and procedures to assist in the creation of technical drawings utilizing CAD software. Projects will focus on the water and wastewater industry, including both infrastructure and treatment facility-based.

Primary Duties:

  • Prepares engineering and construction drawings from sketches or verbal instructions, utilizing manual or computer-assisted drafting/design techniques.
  • Prepares drawings from markups, charts, and tables.
  • Performs related fundamental engineering support tasks such as updating computer lists, filing prints, distributing drawings, making simple calculations, proofreading reports, etc.
  • May utilize information from vendor prints, catalogs, technical manuals, etc.
  • Supports field assignments as required.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associate's degree or trade school training in basic drafting technology (or equivalent working knowledge/experience) preferred.
  • Ideal candidates will have approximately 0-3 years of experience in a design or drafting role.
  • Basic level CAD and math skills and understanding of drafting and engineering concepts required.
  • Equivalent education and experience may be considered
