Job Description: CAD Designer
Job Title: CAD Technician / Manufacturing Technician
Department: Engineering / Production
Reports To: Darren Huckaby
FLSA Status: Exempt
Position Summary
The CAD Designer is responsible for creating, modifying, and maintaining detailed technical drawings, layouts, and models using Computer-Aided Design (CAD/CAM) software. This role works closely with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and production teams to ensure designs meet customer requirements, company standards, and manufacturing capabilities. Working on CNC machines, programming, setting up and running. Develop drawings for CNC machines.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Create and revise 2D and 3D CAD drawings, models, and layouts.
  • Interpret customer specifications, engineering sketches, and design requirements.
  • Prepare detailed manufacturing drawings, assembly drawings, and bills of materials (BOMs).
  • Review drawings for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with company standards.
  • Collaborate with engineers, production personnel, and project teams to resolve design issues.
  • Maintain drawing revisions and document control records.
  • Support prototype development, testing, and design validation activities.
  • Assist with process improvements and standardization of design practices.
  • Ensure all drawings comply with applicable industry standards, safety requirements, and customer specifications.
  • Participate in design reviews and project meetings as needed.
Qualifications
Education
  • Associate degree in Drafting, Engineering Technology, CAD Design, Mechanical Design, or a related field preferred.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Experience
  • 2+ years of CAD drafting or design experience preferred.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus.
Skills and Competencies
  • Proficiency with CAD/CAM software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Inventor, DraftSight, or similar programs. Fusion 360
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and blueprints.
  • Knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD amp;T) preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to sit for extended periods while working at a computer.
  • Ability to occasionally walk through manufacturing or production areas.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with employees, customers, and vendors.
  • Operate CNC equipment.
Working Conditions
  • Primarily office-based with occasional exposure to manufacturing environments.
  • May require the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) when entering production areas.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with product design and manufacturing processes.
  • Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems.
  • Experience working in a regulated manufacturing environment.

Pay Range: $40,000 – $55,000 per year depending on experience
Location: Clarksburg, WV
Schedule: Full-Time, Monday–Friday
