The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) plays a vital role in delivering compassionate, high-quality patient care. In this position, you will support nursing staff by assisting patients with daily living activities, monitoring basic health measures, and helping create a safe, clean, and comfortable environment.
Working under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, the CNA provides essential hands-on care while demonstrating professionalism, respect, and genuine compassion for patients, families, and coworkers. Essential Functions

The Certified Nursing Assistant is expected to perform the following essential functions:
• Assist patients with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and personal hygiene
• Maintain clean, safe, and comfortable patient environments, including changing bed linens
• Take and accurately record vital signs, reporting any concerns to nursing staff
• Measure and document patient intake and output as directed
• Assist with feeding, including meal setup and supporting patients as needed
• Safely transfer, reposition, and transport patients using proper techniques
• Support patient mobility and ambulation under the direction of nursing staff
• Assist in preparing patients for exams and treatments
• Provide comfort measures such as warm/cold compresses
• Respond promptly and respectfully to patient call lights and requests
• Observe, report, and document changes in patient condition
• Maintain patient dignity, privacy, and confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA
• Contribute to a safe, clean, and efficient care environment
• Work collaboratively with team members and support other departments as needed
• Participate in required trainings, in-services, and staff meetings
• Perform other duties as assigned
Skills, Qualifications, and Competencies
• Ability to read, write, and perform basic arithmetic accurately
• Strong attention to detail in a fast-paced, patient-centered environment
• Willingness to take direction and perform delegated responsibilities

Education and Experience
• Completion of a state-approved Certified Nursing Assistant program
• Valid West Virginia CNA certification in good standing
• Basic computer skills required
• Current BLS certification (or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire)
• Previous hospital or healthcare experience preferred
